  1. You have a good concept but the design needs to be pushed further. Try limiting the amount of typefaces. You have 3 different ones, try finding a typeface with a large family. For the national library week arch I would keep the type face one color. Try that and see how it looks. No sure what the shapes are for, the ones that are behind and overlapping the type. They could be used as a border on the outside of the image. Go over your work and make sure that your words are spelled correctly.

  2. Good start!

You have a lot of wasted space and it is getting in the way of your message. I don't really get how the background ties in with the subject, but it seems to work. Its a bit too loud though, mute the colors a little. National Library Week could be a lot bigger.

You can use up to 3 fonts. As a rule less is always better. The problem here is they are 3 decorative font. With what you have you might be able to get away with 2 but the comic sans is probably not the one you want to keep. Info should be a more readable type.

The slogan is 'Community Matters'. Often we as designers can reword things to read or fit space better. Here however, the slogan is established, and agreed upon. It can't be changed. It should also be either first or second in emphasis. Maybe switch it with Zollinder Library (also check your spelling, that's not it)

One last thing. Cyan is not a readable color for type.

  3. It's a good start, as the other comments have said before, it's hard to read. Look at your peice again and look at what is more important, which is the information. You need to balance your image from your information. You need less of: fonts, colors, and font colors.
You need more of: information, balanced image that connects to the information, and eye flow.

  4. Too many colors both in the background and the type. The date isn't standing out much even though its important. Needs to be a little more simplified.

  5. The background with the grundgy edges doesn't look appealing for a library. I wouldn't want to read a dirty book. Way too many colors, the colors in the "National Library Week" should be all one color. It is really hard to read smoothly. The red shape is also not needed, it distracts the eye and it feels like it was thrown in at the last minute with no rhyme nor reason.
