Text Mardigras Poster

  1. Stretched type? This is not Page II work. You can create your own similar to this using it as a starting point. teh campus festival could work if you change the perspective of it... not just squish it.

  2. The bottom layout has a good design to it but the top needs work, work on the type(don't stretch or "squish" type). Try adding the time, date, and place. The top does not flow with the bottom layout, try adding the style you have on the bottom to the top layout. See how that works.

  3. This is a start. i have to ask, whats with the random color scheme and stars? Any reason that you added the "land of enchantment" symbol to the header when we are working with type? ill agree with the above poster that you have to size your type correctly by either, choosing a different correct font or creating your own. include the date, time, ETC. Take care to space your font evenly.

  4. Stretching type is the number one NO NO! No skewing with your type, have respect for the person that created that design.
The top text has no flow with the bottom, the fonts aren't similiar nor similar in color. As for the MARDI GRAS text, put more empasize on the campus festival. They are both equally important but the school and date are the most important for posters.
Make sure that your text has adequate space all around it. The top is too cramped so make the text slightly smaller and if no font exists, make your own. Mardi Gras has done a lot with handwritten type. Give the text some flair as well, it's too blocking to be used here.

  5. I do like the simplicity of the content on the page but the color choice is quite strange. I would simplify that by narrowing it down to a maybe five colors max & working with those. Other than that, I would work on the bottom text because it has no relation with the above text and I would give some of those letters room to breathe because some are quite hard to read.

  6. Way too many colors. 0_0 Also these guys are right you don't distort the font. Somehow the poster is shouting Rodeo at UNM Gallup rather than Mardi Gras. There is no flow, the two typefaces don't flow into the next. Also what's the significance behind the boxed border?! Your U and P are pushing against it looking squished.

  7. Hmm its psycha-delic (sp?) haha its a lot to look at maybe stick to a certain range of colors instead of all the colors? but other than the color issue its a good idea maybe play around with it. keep your head up.

  8. too many colors should either stick with the original Mardi Gras colors to represent it and/or colors that stands for UNM this looks like there is going to be a carnival is around the corner...

excellent choice of font though!!(: jus need color changing
